"when all else fails . . ."
Heather suggested I write a book about all of dave's crazy happenings. Here's the latest addition.
Dave doesn't know much about cars. So, when he found a leak coming from one of them about 2/3 of the way through his cross country drive, he had NO clue what might be leaking. He started by looking at the color and found it to be bluish/green. But there are several different fluids that are that color. He touched it to feel who thin it was. He tried to figure out where it was coming from in the car. He tried reving the engine to see if the leak increased. Finally, since he was still uncertian, he decided to taste it! And, sure enough it tasted like windshield wiper fluid!! He refilled the fluid and ran the windshield wipers and found that that increased the leak. We're lucky that it was such a minor problem. And, that it wasn't (too) toxic!

Please vote for shoes!
Dave and I have a black tie dinner one of the first days after we get out to SD. It is the graduation dinner for the outgoing chief. I found a little black dress that will do and now I need your help chosing shoes to go with it. I have one Alfini pair and one Nina pair. Let me know which you like best with the dress.

The shoes cost about the same. Both are pretty comfortable for such a high heel -- nina are probably a little more so.

My friend said that she likes shopping for shoes becuase at least you don't have to worry about them making you look fat. Well, I feel like shopping for shoes is not so simple. I don't have little dainty feet that look great in anything so I felt lucky to find two that were half way decent.
Pictures of the kids
Our laptop has been without internet for a week or so and it has made it hard to get pictures onto the blog. So, here are some pictures showing what the kids have been up to.

One of my friends works at Chuck-E-Cheese and she treated us to an outing with lots of tokens and pizza. The kids had a wonderful time. here is clare eating pizza.

free advirtising
1. Baja Fresh has a new mango salsa. It is great! You don't have to order it, you can just get it at the salsa bar. They also have a great mild pico de gallo.
2. Cedar Point! It's awesome. Go there! Ride all the rides. Dave and I went up to Cedar point this week and had a great time. I was a little nervous because I haven't been on any roller coasters for many years and was wondering if my "old body" could handle it. We had a blast. It was a fun date. Here are my cedar point tips.
- Don't bring the kids
- Whatever ride you go on first thing, repeat later in the day, especially if you didn't like it at first. I was super scared to go on Millennial force first thing and practically blacked out because of the speed and my nerves. Later in the day we went on it again and I thought it was fun!
- Try top thrill dragster. You go from 1-120 in 4 seconds. It is unbelievable. I almost chickened out because it looks so scary but to be honest it is only the anticipation that is scary. once you start moving you go so fast you don't have time to be scared.
- Go on the raptor barefoot. As one woman told me in line, going barefoot is "free" and it will also cool you off! Also, it's worth the wait to sit in the front row.
- Dress as you would for a 10 mile run. For us, that's pretty much what it was.
- Wear shorts with cargo pockets to hold your things so that you don't have to carry a backpack and they will be safe when you go upside down on the rides.
-Ignore your date if they happen to be citing all of the statistics on how many people die per year from roller coaster accidents.
