I just noticed that the x-large pics don't show up well on the blog unless you click on them. :)

ode to jessica

This is my amazing sister - in - law Jessica. She is the very definition of "beautiful inside and out". Everything about her is perfect except that she likes Michigan.  She was kind enough to come to the beach and take pics for us and while we were there we took some of the two of us for our kids sing webpage.

We are so excited about our chorus. We have 25 kids in the K-3 group and it will be perfect. We are trying to add a few more to the preschool group (3-5 year olds) but even if it is small I am still super excited to teach Lexey and a few of her little buddies. We have the funnest fall schedule planned for both groups!

Today there was an article in the local newspaper about our group which was really great. If I can find an online copy I will post it!

a few pictures finally

July 25

Jo and Tressel -- I love the contrast in size

Jo spend a crazy morning being pushed around in the doll stroller by the girls!

cutest little thing!

This girl is CRAZY!! Love that wild hair!

Clare in her full Dr. costume!

Dave took this picture -- typical morning at our house.

Okay, so this might look kind of cute but it is actually kind of gross.  Usually when we finish up a peanut butter jar I give the jar to Tressel and he takes it outside and likes all the peanut butter out of it.  Then I walk outside and throw the jar in the trash. Well, on this day Jo crawled out to the deck and found the peanut butter jar and stuck her hands in it and then licked her hands. She thought it was super fun to try to get the last little bits of peanut butter out (after the dog had already licked all over it YUCK!!!!!!)

I seriously can't get over how cute she is. I love babies. I would have a million of them if they didn't require pregnancy and if they didn't grow up into children!

a few random thoughts

busy summer!

Ever since Calvin finished school (july 30th), life has been competely crazy!  It's not just becuase Calvin was home although that is part of it. We are busier, summer is hotter, the kids are staying up later and I have no free time.  I feel like we're just learning to do the summer thing and now school starts again!!

We will probalby suffer the first few weeks as I get the kids adjusted to an earlier bed time but that is okay!    I still wish school started after Labor Day! It is so hot in August I am not ready at all for the tennis shoes and regular bed time!

the beach

This year I have 2 kids that love the ocean (Calvin and Clare)! It has been so fun taking them to the beach. Calvin scares the crap out of me though becuase he will swim so far out. I now will not go to the beach without dave to swim with him, or watch the kids so I can swim with him! I do love that he loves the water.

I love the ocean. It is theraputic to be there and feel the sand and hear the waves. I love it. We go year round to dog beach and play in the sand but this is the first year I've had some crazy swimmers. It is fun!

Lexey breaks out in rashes when she swims and has super sensitive skin. Hopefully in a year or two she'll be able to tolerate the water better so she can swim too.

Scheduling for fall

It is always stressful for me to figure out what to sign up my kids for each year as we start fall. What sport, what music, dance?, etc. etc.

This year Clare didn't want to do dance anymore. I think she'll eventually go back to dance as it seems to suit her personality and body type, but I am all for letting her try something new. She really wanted to do gymnastics this year.  It is a little more expensive than dance but Dave says he is happy to pay $200 more per year to get Clare OUT OF DANCE!! Dave is a riot! Love him!

Anyway, when I took Clare for her evaluation/sign up all three kids said they wanted to try it and of course they all loved it.  In the end I signed up all 3 kids for gymnastics. It is more expensive than some other activities I was considering but I did it for several reasons. 1. I had a coupon and actually saved $ compared to full price, plus they have good sibling discounts. 2. ALL THREE KIDS GO AT THE SAME TIME AND I ONLY HAVE TO GO ONE PLACE PER WEEK.  This is AMAZING for my schedule and car time.  M, T I have nothing after school, Wed I have Kids Sing and Thursday Clare has piano but we are home by 3. Friday we all have gymnastics. It is great. I am super happy about this.

I hope Calvin does well with gymnastics.  I think he might. There is a very peppy/cheerful attitude among the teachers. There is a lot of physical contact (he likes that) and positive attention from adults..
