A Great Trip!

This picture is a little out of order. It is a hotel and convention center in Nashville that has a beautiful atrium inside. It would be a nice place to stay if money is not an issue. There was a school having their prom inside one of the big rooms in the conference center. Parking is $12 on site --crazy -- so we parked at the mall nearby and walked over. inside the mall there was glow in the dark miniature golf which looked pretty neat! Here are the famous twin spires of the churchill downs and Clare pointing at the horses.

Churchill downs on derby weekend. Exciting and crazy. I couldn't believe all the women in their fancy clothes and big heals and even bigger hats. It was like stepping back in time. I felt like a bum in my jeans and t-shirt. Also, lots of alcohol and smoking. While I was there I kept thinking of the scene in My Fair Lady when they go to the Ascot opening race.

Nashville -- a great little city. We enjoyed walking around and seeing all the sights.

This is the Country Music Hall of Fame. It cost $18/person and we didn't go inside.

The Grand Ole Opry. It cost $12 per person to go in so we didn't.

We saw that Ohio State Medical Center is advirtising in the heart of Vanderbilt territory. Pretty crazy, huh?

This is part of Vanderbilt campus. It was a beautiful place. Very old. Lots of big trees.

Notice there are not many pictures of the kids in this one.... that is becuase we left them with Aunt Lora (bless her heart). It was great to get away. We did have to drive a few hours to get there and it was worth it. But not easy.

This is Clare in the car. She did not enjoy riding.
