daddy daughter date. narrated by clare

clare and emi

Last Friday night we got a call from Dave's brother Joe asking if we could use 2 extra tickets to Disneyland. Since we didn't want to do a family trip we thought maybe we could send Dave and Clare up to meet her favorite cousin, Emiley, (no offence other cousins) at Disneyland as a surprise daddy daughter date.

We didn't tell her anything of the plans but Saturday morning helped her get ready for a special all-day daddy daughter date. Once they were on the road, Dave called so I could listen in as he told her where they were going and more importantly, WHO they would be meeting. It was so fun to hear her delighted voice as she learned of her special day!

Sunday morning she told us all about her fun day and showed us every picture that they brought home! I got suck a kick out of hearing her tell us about the day.
the rest of the words in the post are clares narration of her trip. Just try to picture her cute little voice as you "hear" about her special day!

in line for the little mermaid

And momma those are the shoes that gave me blisters

that's at the shop while we're waiting for our dinner with the princesses. and the princess came while we were eating dinner. My daddy thought they were so cute that we tried them on and dad took a picture of us. we have pictures with the princess too! let's look at some more!

that is ariel. we met her.

that's me and emily decorating the crown. the princesses didn't sign it yet

that's my mac and cheese. That's what I ated.

that is daddy's dinner and daddy even took a picture of the vessert.

that is the rapids. Don't I look soakin'? I was the wettest person on the ride!

That's when we're getting on the ride....what's the song again?... oh yeah, it's a small world. That's the boat ride where you don't get wet.

that's right before the parade started. Daddy's phone is on the ground? Daddy shouldn't do that.

that is mickey mouses... you can't see him that much. see that thing sticking out of the horn? That is mickey mouse's ears.

that's goofy's and the dog's. ...what's that dog's name again? ...Oh yeah, pluto.

that is during the parade. That's me yelling. Now there is princesses coming.

See, that is Jasmine's, but you can't see Jasmine.

that is sleeping beauty and tangled

that is dumbo. I am sorry that it is so blurry. daddy worked very hard but I am so sorry that it is so blurry.

That is the dumbo ride. it is not blury anymore. I thought we did the dumbo ride when it wasn't dark? Do you know what? The dumbo ride is higher than Abby's flying fish. There is water at the bottom but you don't get wet. At the bottom there is little holes and shoot out water so that is why people like to stay up high. And I stayed up so we didn't got wet. Emiley got wet cuz' she went down but I stayed up so I didn't get wet.

that is us in the FAKE dumbo. and we didn't went on the tea cups. Emiley wanted to but I didn't.

goal setting

Yesterday I finished my 2009 photo/blog books for the family. I make one for myself (basically the blog) and then one for each kid. The kid books have been edited a bit so they don't have silly blog posts and I add extra pictures of that particular kid.

Now I'm working on 2010. Amazing how far behind pregnancy can make a person in getting stuff like this done. I am much more functional with a newborn than as a pregnant person.

I noticed that for 2009 i had made a goal to have FHE every day. For that year I decided to have just one goal. I think it was a good idea. It was a great goal. It was something very attainable and also habit forming. It has been part of our lives ever since then which is fabulous.

It also got me to thinking that as we strive for perfection it seems a long way from where we are. Sometimes it seems so far away it is discouraging. However, if we make goals one by one we keep ourselves moving in the right direction. Also, goal setting helps us feel success and inspires us to keep moving forward. And, if we keep moving step by step we will get to where we want to be after years of hard work.

I recently sent a goal for this school year to have family dinner at least 5 nights a week (sun-thurs. ...weekends are allowed more flexibility). I want my kids to eat well, have good food in front of them, practice good table manners, have family time together, and enjoy the comfort of a good routine.

august

we went biking around lake mirimar. lex was so grateful to scott for hooking up the bike trailer and giving her a ride!

tressel loves scott, except when scott threw him in the pool.
scott and I took all the kiddos to red robin.
clare always entertains herself well at home. this particular day she cracked me up with her choice of accessories.

we went to sea world a couple of times. It shocked me that Calvin was the one who wanted his picture taken with Marina.

dave and I went on a date with min and tina and chiazo. We brought JoAnne. She is wearing a very fancy dress Dr. meltzer gave her.

clare

alexey

I think all 3 girls look a lot alike. Of the 2 girls, I think Jo looks most like Lex and I call JoAnne Alexey all the time! However, if you ask me, I think Jo looks most like dave.

ps I don't have any digital pics of baby Calvin so he is not included here.
