kids

Clare loves to talk on the phone, any phone. She likes to push the buttons and pick it up to say "hi" over and over again. Notice above that Clare finally has 4 front teeth. For a while she just had the two outside ones and looked a little like a vampire.

One day Calvin and I went out to check the mail. When we came back in he sat down on the floor and immediatly went to sleep. He's a funny kid!

St. Louis

Mormon butterfly at St. Louis zoo. Why it is called mormon we do not know.

The first weekend of January, Dave and I went to St. Louis for a weekend. We drove down Thursday afternoon, Friday Dave spent at Wash U observing the neurosurgery team and then Saturday we drove back home. It was a quick and busy trip but good for us to see some of St. Louis and for dave to get a better look at the program there. We loved both the city and the program. We don't have many great pictures, but here are some. Since I had lots of free time and no kids I went to the temple in St. Louis. It is in a beautiful suburb area called Town and Country.

On the way home from St. louis dave missed an exit. We ended up driving north instead of east for an hour or so. Instead of back tracking to the right freeway, we decided to cut across on a smaller highway to meet up to the freeway we were supposed to be on. We drove for HOURS on little country roads with nothing but barren corn fields and little country homes for scenery. It was crazy. Above is a picture of a super small road we had to take for a few mintues. We thought it was pretty crazy.

Christmas pictures - better late than never!

Notice the big dog -- Pago -- in the background. The kids learned to like the dog!

Dr. Dave

Well, our rank list is in, as are all rank lists for other applicants and program directors. Now, we just wait! We're excited to learn where Dave will be trained as a neurosurgeon, and hope that match day goes well for us. It is next Thursday, Jan. 25th. Dave had a hard time deciding which programs to put at the top of the list which means we have a lot of good choices and will be happy with almost any match.
